AAP on Saturday released its 10th list of 22 candidates. The party has fielded lawyer Phiroze Palkhivala, nephew of renowned jurist Nani Palkhivala against Congress heavyweight and sitting MP Priya Dutt for the Mumbai North-Central seat.

The BJP’s candidate here is Poonam Mahajan, daughter of Late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan.

He is son of Behram Palkhivala and nephew of Nani Palkhivala. He studied and got BA in English and psychology and completed his LLB from Govt Law College. He stays with his wife and two sons in Breach Candy Mumbai. He is a lawyer who raised voice against illegal use of Shivaji Park. He would be working on Law reformation if he wins.

He is a corporate lawyer practicing in High Court and is currently studying the legalities of electricity pricing to make it affordable to all as that is an AAP mandate.

Phiroze said this on joining the AAP, “The beauty of this political party is that it aims to serve the nation and that people of one particular social, economic or political class are eager to serve those from other classes. I was so impressed with the kind of people I met at this recent party meeting. Everyone wanted to do something for other people.”

Jerry Pinto, a note journalist posted this on facebook – “Phiroze Palkhivala is a friend. I know him to be idealistic, honest to a fault and now that he is standing for election, I have no hesitation in endorsing him. If you live in Mumbai North Central, here's your candidate. He's on an AAP ticket.”

Medha Patkar is the candidate for Mumbai North-East constituency against Kirit Somaiya of BJP. Powai falls partly in this constituency and most parts of Powai fall in Mumbai North-Central.
