Dear Editor,
There are umpteen articles regarding JVLR Phase-2., but they are in a manner of lip service by all the media. If some thing needs to be done it has to be done immediately. The traffic has increased many times causing endless agony to residents of Hiranandani . The traffic which is headed for Bhandup now uses Hiranandani Roads to navigate their way to Vikhroli via Kailash complex.
I request you to see the horrible traffic snarl in the morning and evening on Adi Shankaracharya Road.
* The traffic pours in from either side .i.e. Eastern express High way to western express high way & vice versa.
* From Western side the traffic is fed to this road from Goregaon side; from Jogeshwari link Road ; & from Sakinaka
* All this since Kurla Chembur link is pending litigation since eons, is this the only link at present from east to west? Not So!
* There is a municipal road running from Goregaon to Bhandup which is alternative to this link. BUT THE ROAD IS ONLY FOR THE PLEASURE OF VVIPs, GOVT/ MUNICIPAL OFFICIALS.
* This road may not be open to general public citing security reasons etc due to being a pipeline road ,its proximity to Vihar Lake & pipeline delivering water to Mumbai City, If so, this pipeline emerges near Larsen and Toubro amidst hutments almost covering the pipeline. What happens to the security aspect?
* If the said road is private how does it justify to make and maintain road thru public funds and not be open to public use?
The apathy of those in power , crosses all bounds when knowing that such facility is desperately needed to cater to increasing traffic how does it behove the Authorities to block this public resource for private use.
I am writing to you with an hope that your team will do a journalistic research and then could take it up via RTI route or Public Interest Litigation. By throwing this road for public use Lots of savings will occur in terms of wasted time and waste of petrol in traffic jams.
