Powai Vihar Brimming with Civic Neglect

Dear Editor,
Through this mail I would like to invite your attention to the following:
a. Near the prestigious Gopal Sharma School, opposite Maple restaurant, there are dustbins provided by the BMC for collecting the garbage. These bins are always over flowing and the garbage is littered all over the place. The dogs and scavengers make the problem worse. The whole area stinks as a result. Besides, there is heaps of garbage and other waste piled up around it always.
b. Just adjacent to these bins, there is a distribution board for power supply, put up by Reliance Energy. This board is very close to the ground and is without a cover which could pose a danger someday.
c. In addition to this, the narrow lane is also used for parking vehicles, sometimes on both sides, which further adds to the problem as several times auto rickshaws are also parked there and block the way on the corners/junctions.
d. During rainy season, water logging takes place in this area. The adjacent drains are full and choked and will overflow once it starts raining.
Through your esteemed publication, these matters can be brought to the notice of the concerned departments and necessary action is taken.
