AFTER HRS - Powai Park residents troubled over excess activity at adjacent commercial complex

Dear Editor,
Mr. Niranjan Hiranandani appears in many events and speaks as a responsible citizen. Will he pay some attention to the residents of his complex? About 3 years back they started constructing a complex called VENTURA, opposite D'Mart where now SBI, Chillis, The Great Kabab Factory, Aromas and other establishments are housed.
For last 3 years it has been a hell for the residents of Powai Park. All the inconvenience caused by builders was borne patiently as a part of construction work. During construction the amount of noise pollution from morning 6am to midnight was painful. In addition amount of dust pollution caused many to fall sick. We hoped, that all this will come to an end once the construction is over, but this is not to be.
1) After the construction was over all the offices that are coming up, have undertaken interior work. This work seem to be starting after 7pm and goes on till 11.30pm and beyond. You have continuous drilling, metal cutting and grinding noise every day. Now (as I write this email) it is 10.55pm still the noise is unbearable. We have senior citizen staying in the building as also students who are preparing for their exams none of them are able to rest or study. 2) Some establishments have put up an alarm bell, or a bell/hooter which rings loud at the gap of 20 to 25 minutes. This hooter rings even at 2am and 4am in the morning, disturbing the sleep of nearby residents.
3) Some kitchens have come up in the complex. These kitchens throw their exhaust/ fumes at the back of the building but opposite to Powai Park. The fumes (especially non-vegetarian cooking) enter into the house of vegetarians.
4) Some time back, we had a mobile generator van operating 24 hrs throwing up diesel smoke and creating noise pollution. This was shifted after representation but we had to put up with inconvenience for more than a week. No thought seem have been given to these:
a) Working after office hours b) Permitted 2 shift operation c) At the back of their building away from the road they forgot that they are in a residential complex where people living need peace and rest
Will Mr Hiranandani pay attention to these problems so that residents of Powai Park can have some peace and rest?
