Dear Editor,
I read with interest, ‘Windows to the World – 26’ (PP Aug 3-9) by Amit Goel, “Impressions on Visit to Pakistan” by Vijay Gupta and Amit Goel.
Surprisingly, we all have a very wrong impression about Pakistan as a very backward State, more backward than our great nation India. This might be due to the propaganda of our media. But actually it is not true. The impressions given by Gupta and Goel on their personal visit to Pakistan clearly shows that Pakistan is after all better than us in many ways.
A few months ago my own sister and brother-in-law had visited Lahore and Karachi, they were stunned to see the cleanliness, good roads, less traffic and overall good standard of living of people. My sister after coming back gave me a ring and described her personal experiences of Pakistan. In her words she told me that Lahore and Karachi can easily humble my great city Mumbai which we want to convert it into another Shanghai.
