Thanks for having taken up issue with RELIANCE ENERGY earlier .i.e. Replacement RE Power with Tata Power sometime back in PP..
But attitude of the Reliance Energy is same even today. We found out this Excess Bill amount recently when my wife noticed wrong meter reading vs excess amount cooked in latest bill than went to Soc. meter room and checked the actual unit data, the billed amt was much higher than We then fired the concerned dept.
Now see the result, we have received a New Bill for Rs 860/- Instead of Rs 2130/- (3 times higher). Had we not gone deep into the matter than we would be blindly paying excess amount bill through ECS/Banking payment method.
Now this is high time someone should do "sting operation" about such Service Providers about high/bogus bill amount processing and their smart recovery methods. After studying this incident I have instructed my Factory assistant to take record of RE meter reading every month along with the digital photo so that we can testify our honesty at consumer court/forum if required.
