Brothers-in-law, proactive Traffic Police
|
Dear Editor,
If you are bored of listening to stories of police officers being bullies, then this one will come as a breath of fresh air.
Some time back on my way to work as I reached the Bayer circle a water tanker coming from BG gas side at great speed almost 'Nooried' me, the over four decades of driving in Bombay saved me from being awarded a one way ticket to k' marg.
The very next day I was called to the traffic control office located near L&T Sakinaka as the tanker and driver have been apprehended and detained. On reaching I was shocked to know that the driver did not possess valid driving license.
The traffic personnel also detained the owner of the transport company and charged him for the offences recorded.
It's sheer providence and the blessings of elders that I am here to caution you of this incident, its warning for everyone to be cautious while either walking or driving on our roads and to report such incidents to traffic control, I am sure Powai's traffic would get into quick action mode and book the offenders.
The Central Avenue traffic management plans are in full swing with the direct cooperation of Powai traffic department. It would therefore not be the right time to discourage the cops from carrying on with their duties such as the news that was reported in this paper two weeks ago.
